School is about to be out and brethren will be traveling on vacation. If you are passing through Shelbyville, please come visit us.

New Deacons Appointed
We are please to announce the appointment to two men to the office of Deacon in the church here at Eastside: Brother Chris Byford and Brother Randolph Henderson. We are so proud of the work they do as we are proud of all the Elders and Deacons that serve here.
Praying for Our Country
We ask all to pray for the elected leaders of our county in hopes that God will guide their decisions in a way that would magnify His Word.
Three Things to Hold On To by Mike Richardson
(i)Hold on to our Faith. What is faith? Let me give you the ABC’s of faith. Faith is an Action based on a Belief sustained by Confidence (Heb.11). Many of us hold onto so many things of this world that makes little difference, when what we need to hold onto is our faith in God.
(ii)Hold on to His Word. Rom.10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Cannot have faith unless you know the Word. Why do some have stronger faith than others? They know the scriptures, they hold on to God’s Word, and they hold on to their faith. Let s grasp hold of God’s Word and know the Book and the Author.
(iii)Hold on to the Nailed Scarred Hand (Jno.20:26). Let the hand that was wounded for you, lead you to your eternal home. His hand is there to grasp when no other hand is available.
(iv)Three things to consider: (1)What are you holding on to? Things of this world or things that really matter? (2)The fear of letting go of things of this word really hinders us from holding on to what is important. (3)Don’t let go of these three things: (a)Faith (b)Word (c)Nailed Scarred Hand
